Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Bytendril (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Kinleaf mobile application and related services (the “Service”).
1. Who we are
Kinleaf is published by Bytendril. For privacy questions or requests, contact us at support@bytendril.com.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use Kinleaf, we may collect:
- Account information — email address and authentication identifiers when you sign in (Apple, Google, or email one-time code).
- Plant and care data — plant names, species, locations, care events (watering, soil checks, tasks), notes, schedules, and moisture-related predictions generated by the app.
- Family garden data — if you join or create a shared garden, other members in that garden can see plants and care activity according to their role (owner, editor, or viewer).
- AI Care Assistant content — questions you ask and responses generated for your plants when you use the Care Assistant.
- Subscription status — whether you have an active Kinleaf Pro subscription or trial (via Apple, Google, and our subscription provider).
- Device and app data — basic technical data needed to run the app (for example notification permissions, app version, and sync timestamps). Kinleaf stores plant data locally on your device in SQLite as well as in the cloud when you are signed in.
We do not require hardware sensors. Moisture levels are predicted from your logged care activity unless you add sensor support in a future version.
3. How we use information
We use your information to:
- Provide plant care scheduling, reminders, and history
- Sync your garden across devices when you sign in
- Enable family garden sharing with people you invite
- Power optional AI care suggestions through our Care Assistant
- Process and validate subscriptions
- Respond to support requests and protect the Service from abuse
We do not sell your personal information.
4. How we share information
We share information only as needed to operate Kinleaf:

Service providers who help us run the app, including:
- Supabase — authentication, database, and cloud sync
- RevenueCat — subscription and purchase status
- Google (Gemini) — processes Care Assistant requests sent through our Supabase Edge Function; we send plant context and your message, not your full account profile
- Apple / Google — when you choose those sign-in methods
- Family garden members — other members of a garden you join can see shared plant and care data according to garden permissions.
- Legal requirements — if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
5. Data retention
We keep your account and plant data while your account is active. When you delete your account in Settings, we delete your cloud account and associated data subject to reasonable backup retention periods.
The app may load a rolling window of recent care history for performance; older events may remain stored in the cloud until you delete your account or remove individual entries.
6. Your choices and rights
- Access and correction — view and edit plant and care data in the app.
- Delete account — Settings → Delete account removes your cloud account. Active App Store or Play subscriptions must be cancelled separately in your device subscription settings.
- Notifications — control reminders in Kinleaf Settings and in your device notification settings.
- Sign out — removes local data from the device while keeping your cloud backup until you sign in again.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (for example access, deletion, or portability). Contact support@bytendril.com to exercise them.
7. Children
Kinleaf is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS) for cloud sync and authentication. Local app data is stored on your device without additional encryption at rest — a tradeoff for offline access. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.
9. International users
If you use Kinleaf outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our providers operate.
10. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised version at this URL and update the effective date above. Continued use of Kinleaf after changes means you accept the updated policy.
